FEXBot Uno Guide

The objective of this game is to clear out all the cards from your deck. When the game starts, each player will be given 4 cards. The first player to clear all of the cards from their deck wins the game.

To start the game: !start regname1 regname2 regname3 xatid1 xatid2

Starting a game of Uno

Regnames and xat IDs are acceptable when choosing players to play the game.

Playing matching cards: When the game starts, the bot will announce which card is in play, 4 red for example. In order to play a card, the card must match the current number or color.

EG: 4 red > 4 blue, OR 4 red > 1 red.

To play such card, use command !use number color

EG: !use 4 red

Playing a matching card. Card is the same color, so 3 blue over 9 blue works.
Playing a matching card. Card is the same number, so 3 yellow over 3 blue works.

Note: The matching card has to be in your deck of cards. Use command !hand to view the cards you have.

Using command !hand to view your current deck of cards.

Wilds and wild4 cards: These types of cards can be played at any time. If you do not have any matching cards, you want to change the current color in play, or just straight up want to sabotage another player, then you may play a Wild or Wild4 card. When you play this type of card, you may also choose any color. The colors you can choose are red, blue, green, or yellow.

EG: !use wild4 blue, !use wild red

Wild and Wild4 cards can be played any time, regardless of the current card in play.

The effects of these cards:

Wild: This changes the color of the card in play. The next player MUST throw a card of the same color, or they can change it with another Wild / Wild4 card.

Wild4: This changes the color of the card in play, but it also forces the player directly after you to draw 4 additional cards and skip their turn. The next player MUST throw a card of the same color, or they can change it with another Wild / Wild4 card.

Other types of cards: The other types of cards you will see in Uno are Skip cards, Reverse cards, and Draw2 cards. These types of cards will have a color similarly to number cards.

EG: Draw2 Blue, Skip Red, Reverse Yellow.

To play these types of cards, the color must match the card.

EG: 4 blue > 4 red > Skip red

A Reverse card only works if the color of the card in play matches.

The effects of these cards:

Skip: Skips the player directly after them and moves onto the next one.

Reverse: Reverses the player turn sequence, but skips the player directly before them.

Draw2: Forces the player directly after them to draw 2 additional cards and skip their turn.

To view whose turn it is to play a card as well as the current card in play, use command !status.

Using the !status command to view whose turn it is + the current card in play.

To end a current game of Uno, use command !end.

One more note: There is a known bug in the game, which sometimes does not allow players to throw Reverse, Draw2, or Skip cards over the same type, but a different color. More information about this bug can be found here.
